Theme

Felt like the theme of this game was "no going back". When I thought about it a bit more it made sense

I am not sure how a time loop is related to not being able to walk back where you came from, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here. Otherwise fun take.

If I really stretch I can see the theme

I quite liked the mechanical interpretation of the theme.

Returning to the beginning of the level can certainly be called a past, but with a stretch.

Based on the description, I guess it fits, seeing as its a timeloop game.

How is this related?

Enjoyment

It was really triggering but it was fun

It's a little bit hard to distinguish where you can move and where not, but owerall really good, with somewhat calming atmosphere game. Also when just appeared I didn't immediately find my character, took some time xd

I liked the puzzle aspect that you can't walk backwards and have to commit to your choices.

I played it to completion without realizing it so it must have been enjoyable. Don't know if all of them were but a platform was walkable without getting the glowing square for it.

I got stuck in level 2. The first level was pretty fun, though! It was just sometimes hard to spot the next object in all the glowy effects haha

In some places I would have liked to move faster as there were some long walking sections and just taping them was not tedious

The gameplay doesn't really work well with the perspective of the game. Hard to understand what tiles can be walked on and what tiles are blocked. Also hard to understand what tile the gemstones are on.

looping in the level to catch all the gems feels frustrating and the player movement is slow

The game mechanic is interesting. I would make first few levels much shorter so the player gets used to controls without having to pay the price of going to portal each time they make a mistake.

The game is pretty one-note. Accidentally pressed the wrong key, went back to the level, seems more annoying than interesting. Also from the beginning because of the lack of tutorial is not clear what to do.

game crashed and i couldnt progress

Good game

Didn't run

had hard time figuring out what the hell to even do. i thought moving back meant moving backwards, not moving to the left of the screen

Aesthetics

It was difficult to see some of the objects, perhaps the map was visually too noisy.

Going from the menu to the game was a genuine shock - it became really beautiful but I felt as if Id tabbed out to a different game. It is pretty but the gameplay felt a bit off. The movement felt like teleporting

Great aesthetics, I love the effects! The music was also great. Would be nice if the sound effects for teleporting were less repetitive since I was hearing them over and over, but whatever.

Looked really nice, didn't run on my old laptop unfortunately(asked me to install some new a drivers etc)

The art seems nice, but the basic UE settings make it look cheap and generic. I would recommend playing around with the settings next time (might also perform better when with settings modified)

Visual clutter a lot of it

The environment looks really pretty, but there are two things that made playing the game harder than it should be. First, it is unclear on what square the gems are on. This was frustrating because I missed it and couldn't go back, so I had to go to portal and then come back. Second, at least one passage between rocks looks like it is blocked off. I am talking about the one right near the beginning.

One of the prettiest games I've seen at the jams.

* Art, VFX and lightng produce a really cool mood!

really beautiful from what i managed to see

Nice effects, graphics, music

Beautiful but very cluttered and that lowers the points.

Looks nice, but it runs awful. I get like 1 frame every 3 seconds.

Amazing sound and art looks incredible

pretty cool!

Innovation

Feels innovative for this theme

Fun take on the tile puzzle style of gameplay, though I would have enjoyed more of a challenge. As it stands, it was like a simple repeating maze where the tiles behind you crumble as you move to the right haha. The gems could have been used to power different portals or something more fun like that. Just removing the "A" key doesn't really change gameplay all that much.

Not a step back, it was practiced during World War II. It's just a puzzle.

* Like the implications removing a single button has on the gameplay. Cool use of a contstraint! * Hard to tell where items are on the tiles, would like a glow on the ground for the bobbing elements * Some ground navigation tiles are somwehat hard to read

Cool mechanics

I don't know, didn't run.

nothing unique

Bonus

Taking advantage of free assets as is suggested by the jam rules - max points

Nice vibe

The basic engine settings for UE are not a good idea for game jams as they usually get performance problems on most laptops.

Interesting approach, worked smoothly on my laptop:)

really liked the colors

Game has mesmerizing surroundings

couldn't play the game

Generally very good, polished

Has a volume slider.
