our interpretation of "unstable" was "formless, ever-changing, unpredictable" and so the game has a monster that doesn't have a concrete, physical body and is instead a menacing aura that turns the lifeless into the morbid and grotesque.
Theme
A strange interpretation but pretty understandable. I just think "unstable" rather than "ever-changing" means the state of instability should resolve somehow (negatively)
The flesh is just a hostile piece of environment, nothing unstable about it.
Maybe the fact that flesh is unstable? I'm not sure

It is hard but it does not provide enjoyment in its hardness.
