This is a platformer game in the style of old school 30’s cartoons. The main character has the ability to move around with his spirit to take over other people and by using them complete puzzles.
Story: Main character Richard and his sister Betty were captured by some scientists and tested on. Richard was able to escape and is now on the run.
Controls: Movement: WASD keys Jump: space Taking someone over: right click to leave body and right click again to take body over Middle mouse button to suicide. Left click to activate levers.
Theme
I love the art and the music.
The game practically nails the theme for me. It uses your life points as "currency" as you exchange your lifetime for others' and also for game time. You also exchange your life for information (scouting). The possession mechanic is a great vessel for carrying this idea. Bravo!
Fascinating take on it! Unusual exchange mechanics that I want to play so much longer.
Using karma as currency to get revenge is an interesting approach to the theme
Meeldis teemakasutus, ei olnud mingi poevärk, vaid mees ise viis vere turule.
The theme is spot on!
Close but lazy interpretation.
I like the way it uses someone else's life as a resource instead of your own.
Really clever and creative interpretation.
Enjoyment
A little slow.
The gameplay did not feel very snappy and it was tedious trying to move around. As a player, I did not feel like I had a very varied toolkit to travel around. I would have liked to see around my character a bit more, because scouting the level the first few times with my possession ball was slow. Since movement and planning are the core elements of the game, I would like to feel more engaged through these actions. Movement and interaction felt wholly unsatisfying. The only satisfying factor for me appeared when I figured out what I needed to do to beat the level, but executing the plan felt like I had my hands tied a little.
Movement controller feels sloppy
The game feels kinda sluggish even though the mechanic is nice, so game speed could be faster.
I will play later if I can, but I had to go with "didn't want to stop" because I couldn't get past the first level, since the scientist's body disappeared and I *had* to stop.
At first it felt a little awkward and took a bit of time to figure out how it works. But in the second level it went smoother.
For me the controls/physics was too slow. Made it difficult to tolerate.
The game felt great, I eould play a game like this for a long time. For some reason it kept restarting when I entered back to the original body and lost some progress multiple times. That was frustrating. Otherwise the game was really great!
Had a bug at the beginning, where I couldn't get past the water
Slow. Clunky, punishing.
Really satisfying to play, I wish there were checkpoints.
I did enjoy it, it was easy to understand the game logic and everything worked without any noticable bugs.
The movement is too slow.
Aesthetics
Everything is coherent. There is a specific theme and the game follows it from start to end. The effort to match the chosen core idea can clearly be seen.
Feels like cuphead
This game is intricate and exquisite, and so beautifully consistent.
Idk didn't have earphones in. Apparently all women are evil. Except Betty. Betty likes sticks.
See kuidas jalgpallur lagunes oli puhas ilu. Aitäh.
Art was really good. it really captured the feeling of an old cartoon.Only thing that was from perfect would be a more interesting approach that hasn't been done before. (Cuphead style)
Good audio, really cool graphics
Okay, but the art and the EFFECTS are on point.
It was delightful to watch.
Nooooooooooooooooice.
Although I really like hand-drawn animation, for me it reminded me too much of Cup-Head. But it was really well animated and drawn. Great work. Background music got stuck in my head after playing it, so good choice.
The artstyle is awesome!
Innovation
The mechanic provides a lot of combinations and improvising.
Possession mechanics could be expanded on slightly. It would have been interesting to see an unique ability for the scientist and janitor respectively to help me traverse the level or a certain obstacle. It would help the player feel smart as well, if you let them discover what each possessable character can do for them and offer multiple ways to traverse an obstacle.
FANTASTIC concept, art, and story. Just wish the gameplay worked!
In the last few years similar games have been popularised so it wasn't really new for me. Still interesting though uwu
Tõesti midagi sellist pole enne näind.
I have seen a similar game where you have to kill yourself and have multiple bodies to make your way to finish. It is rally hard to make an original platformer game because it is so over done genre.
Liked the old cartoon theme, but platformers with the same game mechanics have been made before
The hand drawn sprites are great, You can really see the effort put into this.
Bonus
Everything seems to work without bugs!
I liked the art style and the general thematic coherency very much. *clappity clap*
interesting graphics approach felt really retro
Y'all seriously, the amount of detail from the game icon to the screen filter to the music and art style, it was so perfect.
mADE ME RAGE
Jalgpalli lirtsuvate helide eest lisapunkt.
The art.
Loved the effects and feel!
I did find it interesting that you get punished for invading a good person, but also felt like there could be an option of invading whoever you like and then later getting punished in accumulation.
Bonus points for the overall concept and gameplay idea.
